Report: Liverpool could sign 22-year-old 'baller' for £30m now, he may cost way more in the summer

Liverpool have learned how much they’ll have to pay to sign a rumoured transfer target.

With the January transfer window now open, the Reds have been linked with a number of players. One of the more surprising of those has been Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville has been fantastic for Leeds this season, registering 12 goals and six assists across 23 Championship games.

And according to TeamTALK, that form has led to the Peacocks slapping a £30m asking-price on the 22-year-old.

However, should Summerville continue to impress for the remainder of the season, it’s claimed that Leeds’ valuation of the forward may well ‘soar’.

Liverpool learn Summerville asking-price
Maybe it’s just that transfer fees have been blown out of all proportion over the past few years. But £30m for Summerville doesn’t sound all that bad to us.

It’s worth remembering that Liverpool wouldn’t just be paying for what the Dutchman can do now, they’d be paying for the player he could become.

With good statistics in the Championship this season – as well as a little goal-scoring run in the Premier League last year – there are signs that Summerville has something interesting.

According to Leeds boss Daniel Farke, the former Feyenoord youngster isn’t just goals and assists, though. He has the all-round game to back that up, too.

Speaking after Summerville’s two-goal display against Norwich City in October, Farke labelled his No.10 as a ‘baller’ [].

With that in mind, Liverpool may have a bit of a decision to make before the end of the month. If they really do want the Leeds man, then it might be the time to get things moving.

Should they wait, they run the risk of Summerville adding even more value to his own price by the summer. In the event that Leeds are promoted back to the top division, that will certainly be the case regadless.

With the Whites currently looking good for a promotion push, Liverpool should bear that in mind. We don’t think this is one they’re thinking about for the immediate future, but with this news, perhaps they should be.
