PSG president has just said what he thinks Kylian Mbappe should do amid Liverpool interest

A potential move for Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool still feels like a distant dream. But until he signs that dotted line at Real Madrid or extend his stay at Paris Saint Germain – hope remains.

After all, Mbappe has been reported to ‘really, really Liverpool’ according to very credible French journalist Julien Laurens speaking on BBC 5 Live Sport very recently.

The logistics and the financials make things very difficult for Liverpool. However, with Mbappe’s contract set to expire in the summer, at least there would be no stumbling block over what would undoubtedly be a hefty transfer fee.

Regardless, amid the interest, PSG’s president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, has been speaking about Mbappe’s future as well.

PSG president on Kylian Mbappe’s future
Speaking on RMC Sport, as translated by Liverpool.com Al Khelaifi expressed his desire to keep Mbappe at Paris Saint Germain and revealed what he thinks the Frenchman should do.

“I want Kylian Mbappe to stay at PSG. He’s the best player in the world, and PSG is the best club for him. He’s key to our project,” he said.

That’s a pretty emphatic response, with Al Khelaifi making it clear that he believes the best club for Mbappe is still very much Paris Saint Germain. Of course, the club’s president would say that.

Only time will tell whether Mbappe believes the same or whether he will decide to depart to pastures new.
