Dusan Vlahovic breaks silence on Arsenal transfer links ahead of January window

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has spoken about transfer rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal as well as other European giants. The Gunners were interested in signing Vlahovic back in January 2022 when he was plying his trade with Fiorentina.

However, the Serbian international opted to stay in Serie A, joining Juventus for a fee in the region of £62.8million. Since then, the trajectory of the Italian giants has been the opposite of Arsenal.

The Old Lady were unable to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season while the north Londoners were able to finish second in the Premier League before they topped their Champions League group this term with a game to spare. Vlahovic was again linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window but the prolific centre-forward has played down talk of a move.

"I didn’t experience it as a different summer from the others, from my point of view nothing happened," he told Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport when discussing his future in Turin. "I have always been focused and calm, even during the tour in America, when I missed the match against AC Milan due to a physical problem. I have always been calm.

"I was always sure I wanted to stay. The noises are always there, and they are part of the game, if we start listening to everyone, we can go crazy.

"I isolated myself and only thought about the retreat and in the end I’m very happy I stayed. It was what I wanted."

The 23-year-old also remained adamant that his future lies at the Allianz Stadium. "I play in one of the most important teams in the world," he continued.

"I am honoured and proud, for now I see myself here. I still have two-and-a-half years left on my contract, but we are in no hurry. [Juve sporting director Cristiano] Giuntoli and my agent are already talking. I'm very happy to be here."
