Arsenal now reportedly invited to sign ‘phenomenal’ Tottenham target

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been offered the chance to move for Stuttgart goal machine Serhou Guirassy in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have been invited to move for Serhou Guirassy – years after Arsene Wenger wanted to bring him to North London.

That is according to 90Min, who report that Guirassy is targeting a move to the Premier League in January.

Guirassy has been one of the sensations of the 2023-24 season so far, having hit 16 goals in just 11 Bundesliga appearances.

Hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by boss Sebastian Hoeness, Guirassy has been challenging Harry Kane in the Bundesliga scoring charts.

The Guinean striker is in the form of his life and that means a Premier League move could be on the cards in 2024.

Serhou Guirassy offered to Arsenal and Tottenham
90Min now report that Guirassy is targeting a move to the Premier League and his representatives are offering him around.

Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all thought to have been offered the chance to sign Guirassy.

Guirassy’s representatives believe there is ‘some level of interest’ from all of the clubs mentioned ahead of January.

There is a release clause in his contract worth around £15.2million, but a January move could be a little complicated.

Guinea are in Africa Cup of Nations action in January, meaning Guirassy will be away with his country during the transfer window.

That won’t prevent a deal but it could just make things a little more complex for any Premier League team chasing a deal.

There is a fear that Guirassy is just enjoying a purple patch in his career; it’s easy to see that he has never come close to being this prolific in his career before this season.

The 27-year-old has though been on the radar at Arsenal and Tottenham for a while.

TalkSPORT reported in 2016 that Arsenal were tracking Guirassy during his time as a Lille player on loan at Auxerre.

Arsene Wenger was thought to be interested and Arsenal were chasing a £1million move, but no deal for Guirassy was done.

As for Tottenham, the Daily Mail reported in 2020 that Spurs had scouted Guirassy in action for Amiens and were considering a move.

Guirassy ended up at Rennes instead, scoring 25 goals in 81 games before heading to Stuttgart and becoming a goalscoring machine.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham will be weighing up striking targets ahead of January and Guirassy, with his blistering form and reasonable price tag, may just appeal.
