Arsenal linked with January move for Turkey and Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz

Arsenal are reportedly considering moving to sign Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz during the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old has been dazzling scouts across Europe in recent months and has seen his reputation soar following some excellent performances for the Turkish national team.

Yildiz, who can play as a centre-forward or on the wing, joined Juve from Bayern Munich in 2022 where he had spent the last decade developing in the Bavarians’ academy. After a short period in the youth teams in Italy, the teenager was integrated into Massimiliano Allegri’s first team squad this season.

Juventus have shown a strong commitment to the youngster, who they have tied down on a contract that runs until 2027. Juventus also rejected several loan offers for Yildiz over the summer from various clubs across Europe, instead wanting him to continue his development with the first team.

The best parts of Yildiz’s game include his explosive speed and refined technique which make him an eye-catching player in the final third. Those were on show for all to see during Turkey’s last set of international games where he scored an excellent goal during his first start for his country in what ended up being a 3-2 win over Germany.

Receiving possession on the wide left side of the box, Yildiz took the ball into his stride perfectly to get it onto his right foot before, with his second touch, he curled a powerful effort into the top right corner of the box past Kevin Trapp to put Turkey 2-1 up.

With his reputation on the rise, it’s no surprise to see some of Europe’s biggest clubs start to take notice, with Turkish-Football reporting that Arsenal are interested in Yildiz and the Gunners are even keen on moving early and signing him in January.

That will likely be easier said than done, with Juventus sitting in a strong bargaining position. Arsenal would likely have to pay up a significant amount to sign the teenager, while they are also likely to be going up against other clubs in battling for his signature.
