After laying groundwork for £34M January transfer, journalist provides latest on Reds interest

Liverpool hold an interest in signing PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko and have already laid the groundwork for a potential transfer.

He looks good in Red, doesn't he? It might not speak to how good he might be for Jurgen Klopp but the Liverpool colours suit him.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Merseysiders are seriously interested in the forward along with Premier League rivals Tottenham.

He took to Twitter (I'm still not ready to call it X!), Galetti states that Liverpool "strongly appreciate" the attacker's talents.

“Tottenham are looking for a new winger in Jan,” Galetti reports. “Johan Bakayoko – also strongly appreciated by Liverpool – is emerging among the targets of THFC.

“This season, he scored 3 goals and provided 8 assists in Eredivisie so far. The RW has a contract with PSV until 2026.”

Liverpool are considering all options amid speculation that Mohamed Salah may trade Merseyside for the lure of the Saudi Pro League.

Nothing is set in stone, however, and the Egyptian may still choose to remain at Anfield with his talents showing no sign of diminishing.

This season, the iconic attacker has contributed 16 goals and 8 assists as long-forgotten claims of being a "one-season wonder" seem more and more ridiculous with each passing season.

Bakayoko is an exciting talent but if Liverpool can hold onto Salah, they will endear themselves further to supporters.
