Report: 'Untouchable' Liverpool player could now be out injured until 2024

Alisson Becker could reportedly be out through injury until 2024 after the Liverpool goalkeeper picked up a hamstring problem against Manchester City.

The Brazilian international endured a difficult game on Saturday as Alisson struggled massively at the Etihad Stadium, with an injury making the goalkeeper’s performance that much more painful.

And now, according to the Evening Standard, there’s a chance that Alisson could be out until 2024, with the true seriousness of the hamstring injury yet to be determined.

Recently lauded by Jamie Carragher as one of Liverpool’s ‘untouchable’ players, Alisson being ruled out until the new year would be nothing short of disastrous for the Reds.

With Liverpool playing the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal next month, Alisson’s absence could throw Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League title bid into disarray.

Moreover, with Liverpool already having numerous players out through injury, adding Alisson to the list will only infuriate supporters, especially with the festive schedule about to begin.

There are few players Liverpool fans would want to see out injured going into the Christmas period of the Premier League season, and Alisson is very much one of them.

The Brazilian international is easily one of the best goalkeepers in the world and a player that Liverpool would be lost without, especially this year.

Indeed, Alisson missing some key fixtures could put a large question mark over Liverpool’s title dreams, and fans will be hoping that the shot-stopper’s injury isn’t as serious as first feared.

Whilst results from scans might take a few days, all supporters can do is live in the hope that Alisson will be fine to return in a week or so, with the Brazillian too important to be out injured.
