Report: Liverpool now want to sign Brazilian wonderkid after eight-figure Chelsea bid rejected

Liverpool have joined Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton in the race to sign wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians in 2024.

Liverpool are now looking towards Corinthians talent Gabriel Moscardo as a potential signing in 2024.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Liverpool are now battling Chelsea and Barcelona in the race for Moscardo.

There are always some top talents emerging in Brazil and European eyes are constantly scouting in South America for potential stars.

Fluminense star Andre has been on Liverpool’s radar but the Reds could now pivot to Corinthians ace Moscardo instead.

TEAMtalk now claim that Liverpool have joined the race to sign Moscardo ahead of the January transfer window.

It’s stated that both Liverpool and Chelsea are ‘interested in completing a deal’ for the Corinthians talent.

Chelsea had a €20million (£17.5million) offer rejected in August and are expected to be right back in the mix for Moscardo.

This latest report does though note that Barcelona are ‘extremely keen’ to get a deal done for Moscardo with Xavi pushing for a move.

Arsenal are also thought to be keen on Moscardo with Edu – a former Corinthians man – no doubt aware of his potential.

Moscardo is also on the radars of Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham, so this one is a tough battle for Liverpool to win with so many other teams keen.

Now with more than 20 first-team appearances at the age of just 18, Moscardo has shown huge potential in Brazil.

Primarily known as a holding midfield player, Moscardo has been deployed further forward for Corinthians.

Moscardo has already picked up one cap for the Brazil Under-23’s and senior caps are expected in the future.

Liverpool could seriously disappoint Chelsea here, but beating Barcelona sounds like a tough ask.
