Man Utd make "approach" for €40M star that agreed personal terms with Liverpool

Liverpool reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Fluminense midfielder Andre last week but now, Manchester United have approached the Brazilian club.

According to Football Transfers, the Old Trafford wants to invest into its defensive midfield options amid concerns that Casemiro will leave the club next year despite only joining the club last summer.

The former Real Madrid midfielder is reportedly open to a move to the Saudi Pro League. Just like Liverpool, United are considering replacing one Brazilian defensive midfielder with another.

Liverpool fans are waiting for the Reds to sign a replacement for Fabinho after his own move to Saudi Arabia.

The Reds, as per Football Transfers, Liverpool told Fluminense that they are now looking at alternatives.

Another day, another update on Andre
Liverpool's interest in Andre has been the subject of mixed reports over the last few days.

One reporter from Brazil believes the Merseysiders are still at the table, though.

Fulham are current favourites for his signature but Liverpool can gazump them with a £35 million (€40m) offer so long as they also include a 20% sell-on clause, according to Emmanuel Luiz.

He claims: "Andre really wanted Liverpool in the middle of the year, it remains really clear, Andre wants Liverpool, but the most important thing right now, Andre wants Liverpool, but Fulham, and I confirmed this, I spoke to some guys at the club and they said that Andre will play for the club that makes the best offer to Fluminense.

“He wants Liverpool, and Liverpool wants to pay like £30m, but what Fulham did, they said to Fluminense, he has a £40m release clause, what we want to do as Fulham is to pay the release clause and have some sort of add-on clause, Andre wants Liverpool, but what I think will happen is that if Liverpool come with £35m for him and a 20% clause, they will sell to Liverpool.”

It's no surprise that so many clubs are joining the race for Andre after how impressive he was in Fluminense's successful Copa Libertadores campaign.

During the 2-1 win over Boca Juniors in the final, Andre was immense.

He took 93 touches and completed 95% of his passes, according to Sofascore. He won seven of his nine ground duels, making four tackles and one interception.

Only one time was the 22-year-old robbed of the ball.
