Liverpool told they’ve now got a 23-year-old ‘superstar’ in their ranks

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is an absolute joy to play alongside.

Szoboszlai has been a revelation since signing for Liverpool from RB Leipzig this summer. Two goals and two assists doesn’t do justice to the impact the Hungarian has had.

Along the way, he’s earned plenty of praise from pundits and teammates alike.

The latest to lend his voice to that is Szoboszlai’s Hungary national team colleague Callum Styles. Styles, who plays in League One for Barnsley, has told Sky Sports that Liverpool’s No.8 is ‘just a superstar.’

“Playing with the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai is an unbelievable experience and I just love playing with players of his calibre,” says the 23-year-old.

“He’s just a superstar. You just know he’s got that different ability – and he knows he’s got it as well, which is even better. He’s a top player and I feel like we’ve got a really good team. It’s just enjoyable winning games and hopefully getting to the Euros as well. That would be top.”

To players who are, with respect, much better than Styles, playing with Szoboszlai has been a joy.

So to a young man plying his trade in League One, it must be out of this world to feature alongside the Reds midfielder.

And although he was actually born in Bury, Styles’ words go to show just how highly regarded Szoboszlai is within his home country.

Already captain and talisman, the 23-year-old carries the burden of expectation for the once great footballing nation.

With the Magyars looking good to qualify for next year’s tournament, Szoboszlai will be Hungary’s hope for springing a surprise in Germany.

And who would put it past him? Although he’s unlikely to be able to do it all on his own, Hungary do have a decent enough supporting cast surrounding their star man.

If they can give Szoboszlai the right conditions, he can certainly be a match-winner.

As for Styles, he may be one to watch himself. The midfielder has a growing reputation in the lower divisions. Don’t be surprised to see his name crop up in the Premier League at some stage.
