Liverpool reignite their interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski

As reported by the Mirror, Liverpool are reportedly planning to reignite their interest in Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski next year.

The Merseyside club has a longstanding interest in the Polish star, having attempted to sign him before he joined Napoli in 2016 from Udinese, although that deal didn’t materialize.

Liverpool were also linked with Zielinski in the last transfer window but didn’t make a formal approach before the deadline.

It is now stated that the midfielder’s current contract is due to expire at the end of this season, and he is unlikely to renew it.

As a result, he is expected to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, and the Reds are looking to revive their interest in signing him, taking advantage of this situation.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has the opportunity to sign the 29-year-old at a reduced price in January or on a free transfer next summer if they make a formal approach.

However, securing the midfielder won’t be easy for the English giants, as Juventus are also interested in his services.

Since his move to Napoli, Zielinski has become a key player for the club, helping them win the Serie A title last season and a Coppa Italia a few years ago. Valued at around £30 million, the Polish ace is a versatile player capable of playing across the midfield.

He possesses excellent technical skills, is comfortable with both feet, can deliver precise passes, score crucial goals, create scoring opportunities for teammates, and contributes defensively with hard work when not in possession.

Signing the Serie A star would be a significant achievement for Liverpool if they secure him next year. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether they will choose to add another midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.

Considering Zielinski is poised to become available for free next summer, Liverpool may not want to pass up on the chance to sign a player they’ve long pursued.
