Liverpool have crucial edge to sign £28k/week star; Won't move to Juve in Jan

Khephren Thuram will not be moving to Juventus or any other club in January after his agent said "big movements" don't usually happen in the winter transfer window.

The Frenchman has been on Liverpool's radar in 2023. They wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window as part of the midfield rebuild but he decided to stay at OGC Nice for another year.

Both Inter Milan and Juventus are interested but Liverpool, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport, have the best chance of signing Thuram due to their superior financial strength.

He reportedly agreed personal terms to join Jurgen Klopp's new-look squad in the summer but a move ultimately did not materialise but it could in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Now, Thuram's Brazilian agent Rafaela Pimenta has confirmed that a move in January will not happen.

She told Corriere dello Sport, via Fabrizio Romano: “Juventus move? It’s too early to say. I don’t know what’s going to happen yet.

Liverpool are in need of a defensive midfielder and it's uncertain whether or not they are still interested in Andre but if they're not, Thuram would a fantastic alternative.

He's more suited to the no.6 role standing over six inches taller than his Brazilian counterpart.

Despite being so much taller, Thuram is still very press resistant and has the pace and power to bomb through midfield.

Earning £28,000 per week with OGC Nice, the French midfielder would receive a tidy pay increase to move to Anfield.

Liverpool must make sure not to waste the opportunity to further invest in midfield in January.
