Brazilian media deliver verdict on Andre Trindade's display in Copa Libertadores final, amid Liverpool links

Liverpool linked Andre Trindande starred for Fluminense last night as the Brazilian side bested Boca Juniors in an incredible Copa Libertadores final.

The grandest prize in all of South America always brings fireworks and chaos, and last night was no exception as Fluminense won deep into extra time 2-1 as two players were sent off.

And at the heart of Flu’s historic win was Andre, who was heavily praised by Brazilian media at the full-time whistle in what was the midfielder’s final game for the club.

With a rating of 8.5 from Brazilian publication Globo, it’s quite clear to see that Andre had quite the night for Fluminense, with the midfielder labelled as a ‘jewel’ for the Brazilian giants.

ESPN Brasil were also highly impressed with what they saw from Andre on the night, with the Liverpool-linked star enjoying what might have been the best game yet in his career.

Indeed, Fluminense’s decision to keep hold of Andre has proved to be a masterstroke, and Liverpool could now be looking to sign the midfielder before other clubs catch wind.

Liverpool’s interest in Andre is well-documented by now, yet the youngster’s inspiring performance yesterday could be the last thing the Reds wanted.

As well as bringing in more attention, Fluminense could now see it fit to hike up his asking price, one that already currently stands at a reported £34m.

Whilst Andre’s performance has led to history in South America, Liverpool could now fear what’s to come, with the midfielder potentially off to an even bigger club if the rumour mill begins turning.
