Argentine national media now react to Alexis Mac Allister's display in their victory over Brazil last night

Alexis Mac Allister was once again in Argentina’s starting XI last night as the Liverpool midfielder was on the winning end of a crazy encounter against Brazil.

South America’s biggest rivalry descended into chaos as fans clashed with police as some players even intervened with the conflicts, with Mac Allister taking to social media to address the issues.

Nevertheless, there was a game of football to be played, and Argentine media were very pleased with what they saw from Mac Allister on the night against Brazil.

TyC Sports handed the midfielder a 7/10 rating, with the publication lauding Mac Allister for playing out on the left and growing more into the game as it went on, with the Liverpool man playing the entire match.

The result puts Argentina firmly on top of South America’s qualification group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Mac Allister’s side winning five of their six games so far in the phase.

Indeed, manager Lionel Scaloni has cracked the code with how to use Mac Allister to the best of his abilities, and Liverpool could learn something from Argentina on how to use the 24-year-old.

Having signed from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, it’s pretty clear that Liverpool aren’t getting the best yet out of Mac Allister despite his immense talent.

The midfielder has mostly been used as a defensive midfield in Jurgen Klopp’s system, with Mac Allister still trying to learn the ropes to this new role.

Yet for Argentina, it’s clear where the midfielder succeeds at, with Mac Allister more suited to an attacking role and bringing the play all together in the final third.

Whilst change might not be imminent, it’s becoming clear that Mac Allister’s performances for Argentina are something that Klopp is yet to capture at Liverpool, and this latest display needs to be a lesson learnt.
