Liverpool scout 23-year-old Arsenal target during international break

According to 90 Min, Liverpool run the rule over Pedro Neto after sending scouts to watch the 23-year-old attacker in action for Portugal. The Wolves star has picked up top form in the last month as clubs like Arsenal are showing an interest alongside the Merseysiders in signing the wideman.

Pedro Neto has showcased his talent before and attracted the attention of top clubs during his earlier days at Wolves. Yet, the 23-year-old missed consistency and some key injuries have not helped him develop the right way.

In the current climate, Neto remains injury-free and has started putting up consistent performances for Wolves, especially over the last month. His display in the win against Manchester City showed how big a weapon he can be for some of the top teams.

Arsenal retain an interest in the forward, and some reports have suggested Neto has always been their fan. Mikel Arteta likes the idea of the 23-year-old on his side as a versatile option in his forward line. Gabriel Martinelli has a similar profile to the Wolves star, and having both in the lineup would elevate their quality.

As per other reports, Wolves will demand a premium fee, with suggestions on the lines of £50-60 million already mentioned in the media. While Neto would jump at the chance of making the move in the next window, the 23-year-old will not force a move through.

Liverpool were also considering a January swoop for the attacker but may wait until the summer to decide. They have other needs in their squad, such as a left-footed central defender. For this purpose, they had sent scouts to watch Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio in action for Portugal against Bosnia.

Their scouts also chanced up on observing Neto during the game, as the 23-year-old came on as a second-half substitute. If Liverpool decide on a significant spending spree in January, they will certainly splash on a defender rather than an attacker.

Yet, for Neto, it will be an intriguing prospect to know teams like Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in him. The attacker will hope for an injury-free campaign and continue to rise in his stature. The Wolves star will also want to keep up his form, as, at this stage, a transfer does not seem too far away.
