Liverpool news and transfers LIVE - Kylian Mbappe'hijack', Federico Valverde contract, Johan Bakayoko price

A number of Liverpool players were in action yesterday evening in the latest round of international fixtures. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate faced off against each other as France secured a win over the Netherlands, meanwhile Kostas Tsimikas, Ben Doak and Trent Alexander-Arnold also starred for their respective nations.

On a transfer front, Kylian Mbappe is a player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool on more than one occasion in the past and a latest claim on the matter has suggested the Reds could move to hijack Real Madrid's plan to secure the services of the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, Real have reportedly tied down Federico Valverde to a new contract. The Uruguayan has previously been mentioned as a possible midfield target for the Reds.
