Bayern Munich CEO hints at move for record-breaking Liverpool transfer target

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has hinted that he wants to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool also reportedly interested in the youngster.

Speaking to journalist Kerry Hau, the Bundesliga official responded: “We’ll see,” when asked if the German giants could move for the 20-year-old sensation.

Fabrizio Romano was the one to break Liverpool’s interest in Wirtz back in March, and the record-breaking youngster could now be primed for a mega-money move in 2024.

However, Bayern could now be the frontrunners for the attacking midfielder’s signature, a move that could be inspired if Jamal Musiala, another rumoured Liverpool target, leaves next year.

Indeed, next summer could see Musiala and Wirtz dominate the rumour mill, and Liverpool should look to sign one of the talented German internationals.

Liverpool could be a big winner no matter Bayern’s stance on Wirtz

With Bayern seemingly interested in Wirtz, 2024 could be the year the Bundesliga giants decide to swap in one talented German attacking midfielder for another.

And for Liverpool, either player would be viewed by supporters as a sensational signing, with Musiala, naturally, the more appealing option given his links to England.

2024 is already looking set to be a big year in the Europea transfer market, and Bayern moving for Wirtz could have major implications on Liverpool’s plans for the summer.
