Sky Sports pundit‘convinced’Liverpool will sign the Dutch midfielder next

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager turned pundit is convinced that Liverpool will secure the signing of Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich this summer.

Speculation surrounding Liverpool’s midfield rebuild has been focused on other players such as Moisés Caicedo and Roméo Lavia in recent weeks. But Sherwood suggests that the Dutch player could be the missing piece in Klopp’s squad.

He was heavily involved with a move to Anfield earlier in the transfer window this season. But the interest cooled a bit after Bayern said that he wasn’t for sale.

However, The Athletic now reports that the Reds would make a move in the event he became available.

It seems that the rumours are fading after failed attempts to sign Caicedo and Lavia who chose Chelsea in the end.

But the club isn’t giving up yet as Ryan has once again emerged as a potential target for them.

The 21-year-old has made clear his need for more playing time, having started only three matches in his first year at Bayern.

Sherwood, speaking on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday, shared his opinion on Liverpool’s title chances for the upcoming season.

While he initially doubted their ability to reclaim the PL title, he admitted plenty could change between now and the deadline. He insisted that Gravenberch is tipped to make the switch to Anfield.

The Dutch player joined the German record champions from Ajax last year for £21m. However, he hasn’t played as much as he desired for the club.

Also, he has made his intentions clear: to be involved more. But he was left on the bench for Bayern’s win against Bremen on Friday.

Meanwhile, he is under contract at the club till 2027. But he has also reportedly shown his interest in joining the Anfield club.

Should he join the Reds, Klopp would have an exciting midfield at his hands for the season.
